Sabaghina is a winery located on the Oltrepo Pavese hills, west of Scuropasso creek, along the country road going from the valley floor to Montalto Pavese. The vineyards cover an area of approximately 60 hectares of a surface obtained from calcareous marl soils that is greatly exposed to the sun. Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio are grown next to Italian Riesling and Muscat in the towns of Montalto and Montecalvo Versiggia, which are areas particularly favored by the soil and climate, which are critical advantages for the scents’ persistence and intensity. From red grapes that benefit from the microclimate of this central part of Scuropasso Valley, well structured Wines are obtained.
The wine-making conducted in respect of ancient traditions, with the help of modern technologies that are now indispensable, gives life to a wide range of DOC and IGT Wines which are guaranteed by a careful winemaking control.
But the real Sabaghina secret is the passion of Battaini’s family, that turns the already important and beautiful job of Winemaking into the pride of a well done result.
